  • Overview

    Works directly and in collaboration with the Vice President and provides leadership, guidance and support to his/her staff to achieve required program outcomes and meet levels of services for all contracts under his/her supervision.


    Work Location: Brick, New Jersey



    • Supervise and support all staff members and student interns, adhering to the agency’s supervision model (Supervision for Success). Clearly documents all supervision notes, evaluates staff during probation periods, conducts yearly performance reviews and makes recommendation or personnel actions.  
    • Ensure staff maintain accurate, up to date records of level of service in accordance with contractual requirements. Ensure policies and procedures are properly interpreted and applied by staff, interns, volunteers and members of Community Advisory Boards.  Ensure staff submit weekly and monthly reports on time.  Ensure all child/family plans, program binders, weekly and monthly reports, manuals and files are up to date and accurate.
    • Monitor personnel workload and work with staff to resolve problems related to job performance and/or participant(s).
    • Plan and implement professional development opportunities for the staff in collaboration with the Vice President. Provide leadership, training and coaching to assist staff and interns in meeting participant(s) and program goals.
    • Engage interns and volunteers in program operations as well as community educational events and special projects, providing meaningful, skill building experiences.
    • Assist in planning, monitoring and evaluating pre- and post-natal education and support groups, primary prevention programs and center based activities.


    Educational Requirement:


    Bachelor’s Degree with a strong focus in maternal child health or early childhood, Master’s Degree in Social Work and/or related field preferred



    Work Experience Requirement


    Minimum of three years (3) of supervisory experience working in a non-profit social service or child welfare setting; minimum of two (2) years working with primary and secondary prevention services.   Experience working with state and county contracts.


    Other Skills and Abilities: Must be respectful of ethnic, cultural and class differences of all clients and staff.  Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license, as some travel is required. Connections to and knowledge of Monmouth/Ocean Counties preferred.  Bilingual/bicultural (Spanish) a plus. Computer literate, knowledge and ability to work in Excel, excellent communication skills both verbal and in writing.
