    The Part-Time Program Assistant will provide support and guidance to individual 3 and 4 year old children, and small groups of children in a preschool classroom setting

     

    Schedule:  Monday, Wednesday, Friday mornings, 2 hours per day; (October 2108 through April 2019)

     

    Work Location: Trenton, New Jersey

     

    Responsibilities

     Primary Job Responsibilities:

    • Provide support and guidance to individual 3- and 4-year old children, and small groups of children in a preschool classroom setting.
    • Work with students in 15 minute sessions with ABC Mouse computer software, in support of classroom teachers
    • Provide basic classroom support as needed

     

    What we will offer you:

    • Experience in all aspects of working with young children in the learning environment: physical, social-emotional, cognitive, language/literacy and creative activities.
    • Training in ABCMouse and Chromebook technology for preschoolers.
    • Experience with foundation-funded project to be evaluated for replication

     

     

    Qualifications

    Education requirements:

    • Bachelors or Associates degree in process; or experience in early childhood programs
    • Computer skills and knowledge of relevant software
    • Knowledge of operation of standard office equipment

     

    Additional Requirements:

    • Interested in working with preschool age children in early childhood education setting
    • Able to make a year long commitment (October 2018-April 2019)
    • Must respect racial, ethnic, cultural and class differences of all students and staff
    • Must have flexible schedule to allow for morning hours
    • Must have a car and valid driver’s license
    • Experience with Chromebook & ABC Mouse preferred, but not required
