  • Overview

    The Program Assistant I will be responsible for complete maintenance of New Jersey Cares for Kids (NJCK) cases.




    • Assimilation of the regulations and procedures under which the programs operate
    • Ability to assess program eligibility for any CCAP case including the Kinship & the PTCC program
    • Write and send preliminary and final agreements
    • Responsible for learning state software (CARES, EPPIC)
    • Enter child care agreements onto CARES
    • Utilize EPPIC, the state e-child care system, to keep parents and providers informed of all responsibilities needed in the system
    • Create e-child care period of service vouchers for provider payment on the Administrative Terminal in EPPIC
    • Review and calculate submitted ECC vouchers so accurate payments are made on the Administrative Terminal for electronic payment
    • Replace/reissue parent cards on EPPIC as needed; add alternate cardholders as requested by parent
    • Make address changes in CARES for correct history in EPPIC
    • Provide technical Assistance to child care providers including all issues and concerns related to e-child care, its vouchers and their use
    • Utilize NACCRRAware for client information, technical assistance entries and general case documentation
    • Accurately track and act on all paperwork due dates
    • Process re-determinations and issuance of termination notices as necessary 
           (as assigned)
    • Manage child care problems and/or complaints about/from providers
    • Communicate effectively with providers regarding program regulations/payment issues
    • Receptionist duties as needed



    High School Diploma Required/Associates Degree Preferred


    Two to three years proven experience working in a professional office environment required
