Overview

The  Program Driver will drive an automobile, minibus, or van to transport clients (parents and children), or agency personnel to and from individual or central loading area to social service agencies or other destinations according to an assigned schedule.   

 

Expected Length of Assignment: 3 Months

 

Expected Hours:  As Needed/ Up to 19 Hours Per Week

 

Work Location:  1433 Hooper Avenue, Toms River, New Jersey

 

Hourly Rate:  $15.46



 

Responsibilities

  • Drive an automobile, minibus or van to transport clients (parents and children and/or agency personnel)) to and from social service agencies.
  • Drives vehicle to and from individual or central loading area to social service agency or other destination according to assigned schedule.
  • May assist passengers in need, in and out of vehicle or children in and out of car seats.      
  • May operate radio or similar device to communicate with office or other vehicles to report any disruptions of service.
  • Regular vehicle maintenance, service, and cleaning.
  • Sanitize vehicle regularly according to the agency protocol.
  • Maintain trip records and mileage reports
  • Report any unacceptable behavior of passengers

 

Qualifications

 

Education:

High School Diploma Required; Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology/Social Work or Early Childhood/Special Education Related
Fields Preferred

 

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years experience as a driver of passengers and working with children preferred. (Taxi cab, school bus, medical and or rehabilitation transport). Must pass a Department Of Transportation physical examination once a year, pass a drug screening, and have a clean driving record.

 

Flexible and varied work schedule as determined by program needs required.
