Overview

Kidsbridge is a children’s empathy program of The Children’s Home Society of New Jersey (CHSofNJ) serving children ages 3 to 15 years old, their parents and teachers. Kidsbridge provides young people with a foundation to grow as empathetic individuals who become positive advocates for themselves and others, empowering them to challenge racism, bias, bullying, and other forms of discrimination.

 

The Kidsbridge Facilitator implements age-appropriate curriculum via in-school classroom programs and/or afterschool and summer camp programs. Under the training and direction of the Kidsbridge Education Supervisor, the Facilitator works in conjunction with other Kidsbridge Facilitators in teaching a specific, scripted, engaging activities

 

Hybrid with the expectation of travel to and from various school/classroom locations throughout Mercer County

 

Hourly Rate: $25.00

Responsibilities

  • Deliver Kidsbridge curricula in classroom, after school, summer camp and community settings in-person or virtually
  • Assist in classroom management
  • Assist in maintaining program spaces
  • Maintain student safety and provide a supportive learning environment
  • Participate in staff development workshops and attend staff meetings
  • Complete required hours of self-guided professional development
  • Provide input and feedback on curriculum content
  • Assist with administering program surveys and assessments
  • Perform related duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

Education Requirements:

Associates Degree, Bachelor’s preferred

 

Work Experience Requirement: The Kidsbridge Facilitator must have a strong commitment to providing high quality programming for youth and effective behavior management skills. Two years (2) of previous experience with youth in a leadership role highly desirable

 

Other Requirements:

  • Demonstrated commitment to building empathy, empowerment, and other Social Emotional Learning (SEL) skills in youth ages Pre-K to 8th grade
  • Demonstrated commitment to being punctual, dependable, responsible, and professional
  • Familiarity with video online platforms and digital file platforms (e.g., Zoom, Google Meets, Google Docs)
  • Experience or commitment to anti-bias, anti-racism, and inclusive education in diverse settings
  • Commitment to increasing personal knowledge and skills around topics that inform Kidsbridge programs
  • Empathy for children of all backgrounds/ heritage
  • Engaging communication skills
