Overview

The Bilingual Social Service Specialist will provide case management and support of the Kinship program and families.

 

Work Location:

635 South Clinton Avenue

Trenton, New Jersey 08611

 

Bilingual English/Spanish is a must.

 

Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation as travel throughout New Jersey required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform case management with kinship families as needed
  • Provide appropriate resources, referrals and service linkages based on the family’s needs.
  • Conduct in person home visits with kinship families within assigned counties.
  • Assess financial eligibility of families for program
  • Conduct initial file reviews and send out missing document letters.
  • Effectively communicate with community partners and advocate for families
  • Assist kinship families with Kinship Legal guardianship application.
  • Maintain and update electronic records using, 211, Evolv and Salesforce databases.
  • Scan and upload all documents sent out or received into Evolv.
  • Conduct daily receipt reconciliation with the case record and close out completed files.
  • Assist program supervisor with additional tasks as assigned

Qualifications

Education Qualifications: Associate’s degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred in social work, psychology, or related field. Should have a minimum of three years’ experience working in an accredited social service agency. Bilingual a must.

 

Work Experience Requirement: Must have a minimum of three years’ experience working successfully engaging at risk families. Experience in case management, intake, outreach, information & referral resources and customer service experience. High volume call center experience a plus

 

Other Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as Microsoft Office, managing files and records and other office procedures and terminology. Excellent computer skills are required and knowledge of Microsoft Access. Must possess excellent inter-personal and communication skills. Must be organized and detail-oriented. Ability to multi-task required. Must have consistent and punctual attendance. Bilingual English/Spanish speaking a must.
