Overview

The Donor and Grants Engagement Associate supports CHSofNJ's fundraising efforts by providing key coordination and writing support across two strategic areas: individual donor engagement and institutional grants development. This full-time role is ideal for a strong communicator who enjoys writing, researching, and managing details that help deepen donor and funder relationships.

The coordinator will work closely with the Chief Advancement Officer, Senior Grant Writer, and Development team to help ensure timely donor communications, effective campaign execution, and grant preparation support.

 

Full-Time: 35 Hours per week

Salary Range: $29.00 - $31.00 per hour

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Donor Engagement

  • Support the planning and execution of donor cultivation activities, including small events, tours, and engagement opportunities.
  • Conduct prospect research on individuals and corporate donors to inform cultivation strategies and support pipeline development.
  • Maintain and update donor information, contact history, and engagement notes in the CRM system, ensuring data accuracy and segmentation readiness.
  • Proactively reach out to prospective donors and corporate contacts via email or phone to schedule introductory meetings with the Chief Advancement Officer or other senior leaders
  • Coordinate logistics for donor meetings and prepare briefing materials to support donor cultivation and relationship-building efforts.  

Grants Support

  • Research prospective funders, including foundations and corporate sponsors.
  • Assist in preparing grant proposals and supporting documents under the direction of the Senior Grant Writer
  • Track deadlines and deliverables using the internal grants calendar
  • Organize files and ensure accurate recordkeeping of submissions and reports.
  • Help gather data and program information for grant reports.

Team & Administrative Support

  • Participate in Advancement team meetings and planning sessions
  • Maintain organized internal filing systems and boilerplate content
  • Assist with interdepartmental collaboration as needed

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 1–2 years of experience in fundraising, development, or nonprofit administration
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
  • Organized, deadline-oriented, and self-directed
  • Comfort working with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with donor databases
  • Basic understanding of grant proposal components
  • Experience supporting fundraising campaigns or stewardship activities
  • Interest in building a career in nonprofit development or communications
